The Shires Collection -- The word 'shire' referred to an administrative region about one fiftieth of the total area of Britain and most of our counties today retain it as part of their name. David Winter has taken twelve views from life in "The Shires" and recreated them with his usual fine detail. The range is further enhanced by Andrew Stadden's metal figurines which help to give the piece a recurring theme. From the young rapscalion about to cause havoc with his catapult to the bull being taunted by a naughty boy, each piece poses the same question: What happens next...? The Oxfordshire Goat Yard --Goats have a passion for eating anything they are not supposed to eat, and the clothes on the washing line must be very tasty. The farmer's wife may not be amused. Will the goats eat the washing anyway? Certificate of Authenticity- Hand-made and hand-painted at the Studio and Workshop of John Hine Limited, Great Britain, under the guidance of David Winter and John Hine.
