Series: West Coast Lighthouses Mukilteo Light 1906: Mukilteo, Washington. The Mukilteo Light stands on historic ground overlooking Possession Sound in Washington State. Isaac Stevens, Governor of the Washington Territory, signed a treaty here with the Northwestern Indians in 1855. The name is an English version of a Native American word meaning "good place for camping," and indeed Indians often gathered on this point of land.
