The "King George Inn", item # 1991 is located in Mount Bethel, New Jersey. The King George Inn dates back to 1692, which could very well qualify it to be the oldest building in Warren Township. The most aged section of the Inn was originally a blacksmith shop serving farmers of the early community. Later, the King George Inn housed a provisions post, hotel, and tavern, and hosted church services for a time. Restoration on the inn began in 1953, with the uncovering of hewn beams, fireplaces and original field stone foundations. Today, the interior is complimented with authentic antique furnishings. Introduced in January 1999 and retired in December, 2003.
