Raku pottery   The Clay Cellar-Raku pottery studio is located in Kansas. Owner/designer Joyce Furney strives to create art with the flow and grace of the universe. Raku is an ancient art dating back to 16th century Japan, using different glazes, colorations of the clay and firing techniques to create the beautiful finishes unique to each piece. Artist Furney lends her creative eye to many pieces for the home, including lidded boxes, graceful bowls, tiles and dishes. While Raku should be used with care, it is appropriate for displaying dried and silk florals, use as candy dishes and other display’s but is not good for wet use such as foods and fresh flowers. Clay Cellar Raku pottery adds an element of grace to any home, contemporary or traditional décor.
