The "Old Church On The Hill", item # 3992 is located in Lenox, Massachusetts. As cities developed around churches, the church tower, or steeple, was used as a landmark to help locate the local place of worship from a distance. During a time when few houses were more than two stories tall, churches towered over the other buildings, giving the community a sense of identity. The Community Church is lovingly known by its members and the community as the Old Church On The Hill. The New England Church Series was introduced in April 1999 and retired in December 2003.
