Casey Barn $22.00

The Casey Barn, built in 1938 of lumber acquired from Eugene Casey's two farms, is located on Maryland Route 355. The barn measures 80 feet across and has a green silo located on each side. Mr Casey originally used the barn to house sixty dairy cows, producing three hundred gallons of milk daily. Each grain silo had the storage capacity of one hundred and fifty tons of corn. The Casey Barn is depicted here as it appeared in 1940, prior to a large political rally for President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Eugene Casey served as executive assistant to President Roosevelt. In 1971, Mr. Casey donated the barn and property to the city of Gaithersburg, Maryland. Today, the Casey Barn property is open to the public as a community center.
