Arthur J. Ravenel Jr. Bridge $21.00

The "Arthur J. Ravenel Jr. Bridge - The Cooper River Bridge" located in Charleston, South Carolina opened in July 2005. The Cooper River Bridge is the largest cable stay span in North America. The cable stayed span hangs from two diamond towers at each end of the 1546 foot span. From the towers hang 128 individual cables to suspent the roadway. The signature diamond towers extend over 575 feet in the air and support the road that is close to 200 feet above the median high tide mark. The Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge connects the Charleston peninsula and harbor town of Mount Pleasannt. The bridge expense was over 600 million dollars and is referred to as the "Silver gate of the East Coast".

The Ravenel Bridge replaces the John P. Grace Bridge built in 1929 and the Silas N. Pearman Bridge built in 1966.<>
